Pioneering new ways to unite livability and sustainability.
Safe Harbor Inn, once housed in the former Ramada Inn, is a rental development that provides supportive housing for low-income or special needs individuals and families. The success of Safe Harbor Inn’s program has created the need for additional space, which will be gained by replacing the How-How Restaurant with additional living units.
This revitalization project will participate in the International Living Future Institute’s Living Building Challenge, which requires that projects meet a series of performance standards to show the building operates as cleanly, beautifully, and efficiently as nature does.
In joining the Living Building Challenge, RurAL CAP seeks to minimize the facility’s impact on the surrounding environment while bringing comfort and amenities to guests.
