Harrigan Centennial Hall is the focal point of community life and visitor activity in Sitka. This comprehensive renewal of a 48 year-old facility included a new museum and visitor center, and updates to the 4,000 square foot theater with contemporary technology.

The project required close coordination and consensus building, with strong community support for designing the largest and most fully-featured hall the budget would allow. MCG worked to identify priorities and provide documentation for multiple grants to support the construction budget. The completed project balances maritime, Tlingit, Russian, and Alaskan influences in a sheltering timber structure. Home of the world famous Sitka Music Festival, the buildings signature feature is a stage with a dramatic view to Sitka Sound.
