The simulator pods are the most sophisticated training devices in the world.
The F-35 Flight Simulator Facility contains six Lockheed Martin simulator pods. These pods will be the primary pilot training center for F-35A aircraft on Eielson Air Force Base. The 32,000 SF training facility is expected to be fully operational in 2019. The flight simulators are supported by an extensive computer network that is capable of transmitting high speed electronic data and video information. Briefing and debriefing rooms support the pre- and post-flight training. Office areas for Lockheed Martin technicians and Air Force mission training personnel support the high-security training area.
