Much-needed upgrades for essential services.
The original headquarters of Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility was constructed in five phases beginning in the 1960s, a total of 35,000 square feet.
This complete renovation needed to addressed numerous existing problems, including asbestos, leaky roofing, inadequate seismic design, insufficient electrical service and poor ventilation. MCG’s design team planned renovations that would bring all systems up to current code and provide ADA accessibility for the first time.
The remodel also converted shop areas and vehicle bays into office space and expanded and reorganized the administrative offices, adding 6,200 square feet of working space.
