Designing a fitness facility worthy of those who serve.
As part of its commitment to providing quality facilities for its airmen and women, the U.S. Air Force contracted MCG to build a new fitness center at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson to integrate new physical training areas and connect to the existing fitness center complex.
The new facility creates a contemporary “fitness club” environment that improves morale while providing Air Force personnel with the resources they need to stay combat-ready.
The fitness center’s design was inspired by the flight line. Entry and lobby roof forms reflected the angles of flight, while the entry canopy reaches out to bring patrons “under its wing” and into the building.
